London Region Celebrate Musleh Maud Day


According to the prophecies of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAW), Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian is the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi of the latter days.  Devine heavenly signs were shown to verify the coming of the Promised Messiah and one of the great prophecies was the advent of the Promised Son Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra).  This was announced by Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahamd (as) himself on the 20 Februrary 1889 in Hoshairpur India.

This prophecy was fulfilled with the arrival of the holy spiritual son Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra).  Due to this great heavenly revelation the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community celebrates the Musleh Maud day on the 20th of Februrary in every country of the world where it is established.  To celebrate this occasion the London Region held the event on the 21st of February 2010 under the chairmanship of the President of the UK,  Mr Rafiq Ahmad Hayat at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London. 


The proceedings of the event began with Tilawat by Mr Ikrama Najmi which was followed by a Poem of Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra) recited by Mr Nadim Ahmad Zahid.  Following on from this, Mr Mahmood Ahmad gave a speech in Urdu and English explaining the background of the prophecy as well as the fulfilment and blessings of the Promised Son.  He explained that Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian confronted the accusations of many of Qadian by devoting himself for a period of 40 days to Allah asking for divine signs for the superiority of Islam over other religions.  During this period Allah revealed the prophecy in further detail to him.  It was revealed that he would be blessed with a son who will have 52 qualities and among those will be his achievements and advancements to reach the corners of the earth carrying out his mission.  Nations will take blessings from him, he will be very kind hearted and an intellectual with high degree of knowledge and wisdom in a variety of areas.  It was also revealed to Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) that this son would be born in a period within the next nine years.  According to this prophecy Hadhrat Musleh Maud, Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad (ra) was born on the 12 January 1889 and was blessed with all the 52 qualities as had been prophesied earlier.  This is why a fresh new revival of faith and commitment to Allah resurged due to his advent and leadership, this was exactly the motive for the coming of the Promised Messiah and Mahdi.

The second speech of the day was by Mr Tariq Ahmad Hayat.  The topic for his speech was “The Purpose of Hadhrat Musleh Maud’s Advent”.  In his speech he mentioned how Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra) revealed that he was the Promised Son, and through him such significant achievements and advancements were apparent that it truly was the work of divine guidance which came true in the light of the prophecies.  He mentioned another prophecy which was that Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra) would provide guidance and spiritual enhancement for the needy and he would establish Islam in all corners of the world. In addition to that Mr Tariq Hayat explained how Hadhrat Mulseh Maud’s (ra) blessed scheme such as Tehrik-e-Jadid, Waqf-e-Jadid, Ansarullah, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Lajna Imaillah, Atfalul Ahmadiyya, Nasratul Ahmadiyya and many other core establishments of the Jamaat were set up.  In this speech he also mentioned the 250 books as well as the translations of The Holy Qur'an, Tafseer-e-Kabeer, Tafseer-e-Saghir, which are a true inspiration and treasure to the benefit and advancement of mankind.


Mr Bashir Ahmad Akhtar, General Secretary UK, delivered the third speech in Urdu at this event.  His topic was “Hadhrat Musleh Maud’s Achievements”.  In the limited time frame he mentioned all the important points of his achievements.  Another prophecy mentioned was that Hadrat Musleh Maud (ra) would make 4 out of 3, and this prophecy is believed to have been fulfilled in many ways.


Following on from this, the next speech was by Atta ul Mujeeb Rashid Sahib, the Imam of the London Mosque.  Imam Sahib mentioned Hadhrat Musleh Maud’s (ra) remarkable moments of his life and elaborated that all the prophesied qualities for the promised son were clearly visible to all and took shape and form in the work and legacy he had left which proves the truthfulness of the prophecies.

The final speech for the evening was delivered by the President of the UK community, Mr Rafiq Ahmad Hayat.  In his speech he enlightened the audience with the work of Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra).  He explained that Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra) was the promised reformer and would enhance many aspects of life for the benefit of mankind.  We can also see how he established all aspects of the successorship (Khilafat) because of which the elections of the third, fourth and fifth Khalifa did not face any issues.  The Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya is because of the leadership of Khilafat progressing day by day and strengthening to bring the true message of Islam to the corners of the world.  Due to the blessings of Allah, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is now established in over 195 countries around the world and a total of over 160 million people have joined this divine movement. Mr Rafiq Hayat then the new scheme initiated by the present Khalifa, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba) to the UK Jamaat to bring the peaceful message of Islam to every household in the UK in the next ten years.  The new advert scheme on London buses that has been introduced which carries the true message of Islam “Love for All, Hatred for None” as well as the following lines “Muslim for loyalty, freedom and peace”.  This message was reached to as far as Africa, Europe and Japan in which the press has been highlighting this advert in their respective countries.  Members of the parliaments and other political figures have also commended the work that the community is doing not only in the favour of the image of Islamic teachings but also in the favour of communities that are in much need of brotherhood and peace in the UK.  Finally all in the community were encouraged to make sure that all the children are given the best of education.  It was also a prophecy that Hadrat Musleh Maud (ra) would be blessed with knowledge and wisdom of the highest level.  Because of this he also gained all sorts of knowledge throughout his life time and encouraged all community members to strive and advance in terms of knowledge both academically as well as spiritually.

The final session was concluded with a joint silent prayer led by Mr Rafiq Hayat.  This event was attended by over 2000 members from the London region.
